Kings Volunteer Resource Centre (KVRC) is inviting applications for the part-time position of Administrative Assistant to start immediately at our office in the County Fair Mall in New Minas.
Our ideal candidate will be an independent worker who works well within a team environment. This position will perform a wide variety of administrative support services, ranging from complex to routine in the running of our office.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Board Chair, and working with the Coordinator, the Administrative Assistant is an independent worker who also works well within a team environment.
Administrative Support
Provides administrative support to The Board of Directors and the Coordinator by managing inquiries, appointments, correspondence (including electronic communication).
Works as a team player on a variety of projects, events and workshops
Performs general office duties including database management, creation, maintenance and evaluation, typing, filing, reviewing mail, transcribing minutes of meetings, answering inquiries from community, drafting correspondence, ordering and maintaining supplies for the office, appropriately utilizing social media for organization and event promotion.
Conducts research, compiles data and prepares reports and analytics as required.
Type and proofread correspondence, forms and other documents
Schedule and confirm appointments
Greet people and direct them to contacts or service areas in the community
Determine and establish office procedures and routines
Answer telephone and relay telephone calls and messages
Answer electronic enquiries
Record and prepare minutes of meetings, seminars and conferences
Maintain manual and computerized information filing systems
QUALIFICATIONS Education & Experience:
Grade 12
Business or secretarial certificate from a recognized educational institution OR equivalent combination of education and 3 years experience in an administrative role.
Excellent knowledge and experience with computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, MS Outlook, Powerpoint, social media platforms, and general databases
Understanding of community non profit organizations an asset.
Efficient with a great attention to detail, and must be able to self manage work
Incredibly organized and self sufficient
Ability to use initiative and be proactive

Benefits: Free Parking WORK STATUS: Part time contract commencing as soon as possible and ending March 31 2023 with the possibility to renew depending upon funding.
HOURS OF WORK: Hours of work are 10-15 hours per week in an office environment.
